As the “walking wounded” wars became the “limbless legions” wars, drastic measures where required to get the injured back to the battle front.

Using rockets to fire the limbless combatants back into the heart of the fighting was quickly considered a patronising and demeaning act. The solution: the Stretcher Tank.

This sophisticated mobile bed allowed the ‘driver’ to steer the machine with nothing more than their mouth (via the long joy-stick), this was regarded empowering enough for the determined individual to return to the fight without the need to suffer further humiliation.
