Travelling Dentist (modified Spherodon 2)

Said to be a most pleasant and comely ride while undergoing root canal work. The chair allowed the dentist (and inventor), Dr. Erasmus Mckenzie, to pioneer the mobile dental surgery we now commonly use. (Mckenzie was also the first man to practise tooth extraction whilst travelling at the speed of sound with his vehicle.)

Unfortunately a small design flaw – the patient having to drive the chair whilst undergoing treatment – led to a several accidents and two fatalities. An autopilot function resolved the problem, but patients preferred the driving responsibility of the original machine and so the safety mechanism was rarely used.
